Our hemp tote bags are not made from hemp canvas that we grew. This product is to show as an example that the American textile industry is not in a position to adapt and do things to scale from a sustainable fabric source, such as hemp. We are always open minded to hear from new companies that are attempting to make hemp canvas for all sorts of textile applications here in the United States.
These hemp tote bags are created by EnviroTextiles. Below, you will find more information about this company, or you can click on the link to learn more.
Our current collection is most all from our developments in China over the past 25 years. This is the only country we have the ability to mechanically process our hemp fiber, blend and create fine yarns, as well as produce high quality textiles that can mainstream. We have been producing our hemp t-shirts, totes, etc since 2001 and have tried endlessly to use US cut and sew, we are on another round now in the attempt to have made in the US on select products, let’s keep our fingers crossed that the quality is up to standard as I feel we are all willing to pay a bit more so long as the flaw ratio does not kill the program. We built a cut and sew in our knit factory in China in 2013 and are able to have everything in house in our own partnered private facility. We also opened our own trading company to export in 2007.
