Description
Safe-Guard Canine Dewormer Fenbendazole is safe to use in all healthy dogs ages 6 weeks and older, including pregnant dogs. The active ingredient in Safe-Guard is fenbendazole 222mg/g. Fenbendazole is a medication used to treat parasites and worms (roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and some tapeworms) in animals.
Dosage
Fenbendazole is given once daily for 3 consecutive days and then again in another round 2-3 weeks later. You should not skip doses, and the full recommended dose should be given. Do not give more than one dose at once. For best absorption into the body, give your dog its fenbendazole with food.
Side Effects
Side effects of fenbendazole for dogs is rare. However, some dogs may experience gastrointestinal problems such as upset stomach, vomiting and diarrhea. Increased salivation is also possible. Consult your veterinarian if side effects occur or persist.
